The Richland School District Two board voted unanimously to authorize the superintendent to move forward with a property transaction discussed in executive session that would transfer district land to the South Carolina Department of Transportation for road improvements and right-of-way and sidewalk expansion.
Mr. Dennis moved the motion, which said the board would "authorize the superintendent to proceed with the property transaction discussed in executive session to sell .584 acres district property to the South Carolina department of Transportation for road improvements, right of way expansion and sidewalk expansion." Mr. Trapp seconded the motion and the board recorded a 7–0 vote in favor.
The motion identified the parcel as TMS R20603 13 and described it as currently vacant; board materials presented in the motion said documents will be made public once the transactions are completed. The board did not provide additional detail about sale price or the timing of the transfer during the public session.
The authorization follows an executive-session discussion; the board's public-record motion makes clear the district intends to proceed with the transaction and to publish the related documents after completion.
