Spencer County board approves new director job description and updates salary scale

The Spencer County Board approved a new job description for a role retitled Director of Transition Workforce & Innovation and amended the salary scale to include an ECE consultant who now serves as the district 504 coordinator; both actions passed unanimously.
At its June 3, 2024 work session the Spencer County Board of Education approved an updated job description and a salary-scale revision intended to reflect expanded duties for specific staff positions.
Board members approved a new job description for a role formerly called the college-and-career coach; the position will be titled Director of Transition Workforce and Innovation. Board materials and the presenter noted the board had previously approved salary for the position and the current action formalized the job description.
The board also voted to amend the salary scale to include a member of the special-education team who had taken on additional responsibilities as the district's 504 coordinator. The presenter said the position had been mistakenly left off earlier revisions and should have been included with other adjustments made for the director of federal and state programs and the new director of transition workforce and innovation. "That position should have been included in that salary change as well," the presenter said.
Both items were approved by voice vote; the transcript records both approvals as unanimous.
The board then moved on to presentations and the superintendent's capstone; no public comments opposed the administrative changes during the work session.
