"We are making a raise to the pass and daily fees ... to help cover the rising operational costs of the pool," the presenter said, explaining that daily and pass fees only partially cover open-swim and lap-swim staffing costs. Staff said activity and class fees will largely remain steady.
Board members questioned a jump in the boys basketball camp fee, noting it rose "from 50 to 100." Recreation staff said the increase reflects coach hiring and a desire to reduce athlete-to-coach ratios: with roughly 100 campers they sometimes hire six to eight instructors and must cover those costs.
The board approved the summer fee schedule by roll call. The minutes record that the motion carried by a unanimous vote at that roll call.
