Another said concerns about a February 24 meeting and respect for the community's prior vote informed a "no" vote.
After roll call the motion carried 4–2. The presiding officer welcomed Godfrey and the appointee took the oath of office, reciting support for the constitutions of the United States and Wisconsin and pledging to "faithfully discharge the duties of said office." The board thanked the four applicants who had interviewed for the vacancy.
Next steps: Godfrey will serve on the board until the next general election; the board did not take other formal action on related governance items at this meeting.
