District to evaluate three contractors; St. James replacement recommendation planned for November

Horry County Schools staff told the Facilities Committee on Oct. 20 that evaluations for the St. James Elementary replacement project will take place Wednesday, Oct. 22, with three firms presenting at 9:00 a.m. in the facilities department (501). Staff said they anticipate bringing a recommendation for a general contractor to the full board in November.
Ben Prince, speaking for the Operations Division, said all advertising, interviewing and selection processes follow Horry County Schools procurement rules and that the November recommendation would be the result of that evaluation. The committee had no substantive questions beyond scheduling and thanked staff for the update.
Next step: The evaluation of three firms will proceed Oct. 22; staff expect to forward a recommendation to the board at the November meeting cycle.
