Grantsville council approves routine resolutions on dispatch, land use, impact fees, fees and equipment; all motions pass unanimously

The Grantsville City Council on May 6 approved a series of routine and budgetary items in unanimous votes.
Key approvals included:
- Resolution 2026-27: a 2026–2027 dispatch agreement with Tooele County for emergency dispatching services, presented by Police Chief Robert Sager; staff reported the annual cost decreased from about $163,000 to $158,000.
- Resolution 2026-29: advance order of 100th anniversary badges and patches for the Grantsville Fire Department, estimated at about $6,700 and to be charged in Fiscal Year 2027.
- Resolution 2026-30: approval of a plat amendment for Moody Acres to reduce Lot 1 to approximately one-half acre and realign a future road on Lot 2; no public comments were received.
- Resolution 2026-31: amendments to the Capital Facilities Plan and Impact Fee Analysis covering water, wastewater, public safety, parks and storm drainage; presentations noted the Bates Well and North Star tank projects and that transportation fees would be considered later.
- Ordinance 2026-18: adoption of multiple Land Use and Management Code amendments intended to clarify and align code language with state law after Planning Commission review.
- Resolution 2026-35: authorization to execute a lease‑purchase agreement for a Vactor truck using Zions Bank financing, which staff said reduces financing costs by about $47,000 compared with supplier financing.
- Resolution 2026-28 and Resolution 2026-32: fee schedule changes including increasing the zoning plan check fee from $25 to $100, moving certain permits to the zoning fee schedule, and adding rodeo arena light ($25/hour) and water ($15 per reservation) fees.
Motions to approve meeting minutes and invoices also passed. Several public hearing items were informational or continued; items related to the Wellstone subdivision were continued to a later meeting. All recorded motions carried by unanimous recorded votes.
