Parks Director Alena Hibbs presented a proposal to apply to the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) for a Youth Athletic Facilities Grant of $400,000 to re‑lamp Boise Creek six‑plex and light two previously unlit fields. Hibbs said the grant requires a 50% match; the city currently has $202,000 in impact fees available and would budget the remaining approximately $198,000 in 2027 to meet the match, for an estimated total project budget of $800,000 including a 15% contingency. The council moved, seconded and approved Resolution 1874 authorizing the mayor to submit the grant application.
