Everman council adopts revised boundary adjustment with Fort Worth to bring Enon Avenue into city limits

The Everman City Council on May 26 adopted Ordinance No. 854, which repeals Ordinance No. 845 and replaces the attached exhibit to effect a boundary adjustment with the City of Fort Worth.
City staff said Fort Worth requested revisions to the previously adopted exhibit and that engineers reworked the map to Fort Worth’s satisfaction. The ordinance will move the Enon Avenue right-of-way from Fort Worth into Everman for the stretch near the Bible Baptist Church through just before the 90-degree curve at Timberview Drive. Staff emphasized the change affects roadway/right-of-way only and does not annex private property or change property tax valuations.
"We have since reworked the exhibit with our engineers and have finally gotten to a point of satisfaction with the city of Fort Worth," City staff said, explaining Fort Worth will consider the revised ordinance on its June 9 agenda and will not do so unless Everman has already approved the replacement ordinance.
Staff also said Tarrant County Precinct 1 has committed to improve the roadway after the adjustment and that the change will enable Everman to move forward with a separate annexation step for Timberview Farmsteads. Council discussed the scope of the right-of-way, clarified that whole parcels are not being annexed, and noted that some structures currently straddle city limits.
A councilmember moved to adopt Ordinance No. 854 as read; the council polled and the motion carried.
With Ordinance 854 adopted, Everman will deliver the revised exhibit to Fort Worth for its consideration on June 9, a necessary step before the city proceeds with the Timberview Farmsteads annexation process.
