At the start of the meeting a resident urged the city to add or restore white edge lines on major corridors including Portola, Tascadero and Santa Lucia avenues and to remove dirt that has obscured existing stripes, saying the lines are "vitally important for people who don't drive as much as they used to at night." Council staff said Deputy Public Works Director Hayes would meet with the resident to identify specific roads and explain maintenance choices.
Jeff Oslin, a member of the public, thanked volunteers who raised Memorial Day flags and then asked whether staff had contacted the landlord of a recently opened north‑side supermarket after repeated early deliveries. Mr. Oslin said Home Depot stopped early morning deliveries after earlier dialogue and asked the city to follow up with this supermarket; staff said they would meet with the business owners and are starting outreach with BaliFresh and the Del Rio Marketplace.
Mayor (presiding) and staff encouraged complainants to provide locations and contact information so public‑works and code‑compliance staff can follow up; the meeting record shows staff agreed to pursue additional outreach and identify whether enforcement action or informational engagement is appropriate.
