Veterans gain 501(c) status; Fair Board seeks modest budget increase after fundraising

Dick Bergquist told the Board the Veterans organization has received 501(c) tax-exempt status, reviewed services and activities, and requested continued county support of $2,000. He said last year’s county contribution covered utilities, office supplies and administrative expenses; the Veterans have held fundraisers and are working with the LOR Foundation on potential building improvements.
Nick Rynearson and Fair Board Manager Alea Bunker reported the Fair Board raised approximately $95,000 to cover beef-barn expenses and requested a 3% increase to the Fair Board’s 2027 budget.
