Planning and Zoning says no data-center applications; trust-account review finds no embezzlement

Planning and Zoning Administrator Bridget Felmley told the Board on May 18 that the office has fielded calls about potential data centers but has not received any applications or proposals. She reiterated that Planning & Zoning has not received material to review and that no formal plans have been filed.
Felmley also addressed concerns about the Planning and Zoning Special Use trust account, saying there is "zero indication of embezzlement or wrongdoing." She explained there is a balance in the trust account, that a few refunds have been issued, and that staff is researching whether some payments were posted to the wrong line. Felmley said preliminary results so far do not indicate misconduct.
Felmley added that the Airport Nuisance Zone hearing scheduled for May 19 was cancelled and that the county does not need to adopt a drought resolution at this time. Commissioner Gordon Wilkerson asked that the Planning and Zoning Commission begin researching Data Centers and Solar Farms, a request Felmley acknowledged.
