Commissioners validate Seid Creek Road; Forest Service to begin NEPA review

The action followed Road and Bridge Supervisor Jerod Odoms’ presentation about the road’s history. Commissioner Gordon Wilkerson said the road "over the years ... has been a mail route" and noted there are roughly 40 years of road-maintenance records and that the road touches public land. Wilkerson moved to approve the validation; Commissioner Jim Harberd seconded and Commissioner Nate Marvin also voted in favor.
Odoms told the Board he will draft a resolution and order a survey to formalize the addition to the county road system. At the Forest Service update later in the meeting, District Director Paul Klasner said the Forest Service "will begin working through the NEPA process regarding Seid Creek Road," indicating the federal environmental-review process will run in parallel with county actions.
The validation clears a procedural step toward county ownership and maintenance; the next administrative actions are the formal resolution, the survey, and the Forest Service NEPA review that may identify conditions or required mitigations.
