Mike Whiston presented the plan, saying the city wants to offer a one‑month auto‑renewing membership to align with competitors and provide flexibility for members who do not want to commit to 3‑ or 6‑month contracts. "So, what we are proposing is we would like to do a little bit of a realignment of our memberships. We wanna be able to offer a 1 month option," Whiston said.
The proposal keeps the 12‑month option (with an automatic renewal change requested by current long‑term members) and allows members on monthly plans to pay a $10 monthly fee to upgrade to 24‑hour facility access. The Doyle board recommended a standard 5% across‑the‑board rate increase for the next fiscal year.
Commissioner (S8) moved to approve the Doyle Community Center membership restructuring and rate increase as presented; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff said the increase would be applied starting Oct. 1, the beginning of the next fiscal year.
