Council confirms Trey Cofield to school board, nominates Rhonda Chambers to library board

During the May 26 work session, the council filled two local vacancies. Council moved to appoint LST Cofer III, also referred to as Trey Cofield, to the unexpired at-large seat on the Franklin City School Board left by Dr. Reid Harrison; the council voted to confirm the appointment and the mayor congratulated the new appointee in the gallery.
Later in the meeting Pearlie Banks nominated Rhonda Chambers to serve on the library board; another council member seconded the nomination and the council voted unanimously to appoint Chambers.
Both actions were handled during the work session and recorded as formal appointments; the respective departments will follow up with onboarding and any required documentation.
