Dennis Snivel of the park district and Christie Remek, Dockside’s community engagement manager, updated the JDA on Dockside’s first‑year performance and asked that previously allocated funds be released. Brady presented a facade loan request for Old Spirit & Sushi to renovate the Old Thirsty's Bar location. The owner sought $10,000 repayable in one year; staff recommended approval and the commission approved the loan.
Brady then introduced Mariah Schmidt, owner of Maid Rite Cleaning LLC, who described a commercial‑only cleaning business focused on Lake Region clients and plans to buy floor‑care equipment and hire part‑time employees. The Jobs Development Authority approved a $10,000, 0% interest revolving loan over three years (with review after year one). "I'm really proud to be back in this community and really proud about having my part to play and help grow and make it better," Mariah said before the board voted.
