CAC notes Eco Maine presentation on EPR, recycling uptick and regional studies

At the Jan. 12 meeting Lisa Pratt told members that Eco Maine will present EPR legislation information to the Selectboard on Jan. 13; Pratt said the town will be in a data-collection year in 2026 and is expected to receive program dividends beginning in 2027. The committee also heard that local recycling numbers have increased.
Members noted a regional alternative-transportation task force (KATS) working on smart-transportation planning in the region and received an update that solar-panel installation for Waterhouse is progressing. Committee members shared reference materials, including a Hampton wetlands planting pamphlet and a link to sustainablecitycode.org subchapters.
