Griswold’s special town meeting met at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 13 and considered two proposed changes to the town code of ordinances: a repeal-and-replace of the fee schedule (chapter 143) and a repeal-and-replace of the code of ethics (chapter 35).
Moderator Rich Grabowski presided after a unanimous vote to nominate him. The moderator and the clerk read the statutory notice and summarized the proposed changes; copies of the amendments were said to be available at Griswold Town Hall and on the town website.
For item 1 (fees), a motion to vote on the repeal-and-replacement was made and approved by voice vote. For item 2 (ethics), the board approved the proposed changes with the exception of item number 7, which was removed; the motion included a request that the ethics code be paginated and that a table of contents be added. Both measures passed by voice vote and the meeting adjourned at approximately 6:38 p.m.
Votes at a glance: • Item 1 (chapter 143 – fees): Approved by voice vote (motion and second recorded). • Item 2 (chapter 35 – ethics): Approved by voice vote with item 7 removed; pagination and table-of-contents requested.
Staff noted where the transcript recorded minor textual errors in the reading of the notice (town and statute names) and indicated official copies are available in the town-clerk office for verification.
