A prospective Eagle Scout approached township staff seeking to replace the municipal-complex sign as his Eagle Scout project, Mayor and council heard on Jan. 21.
Mike Orgera said the scout would prepare the footing, installation, a flower bed and solar lights; the township would be asked to purchase the sign and finalize design so the scout can submit paperwork to the Boy Scout council. One vendor quote has been retracted and current pricing ranges from about $9,000 to $12,000; Orgera said he is confirming specifications across vendors.
Council members asked that the design be modeled on the Lee Hill Safety Building sign and sign text read "Byram Township Municipal Complex." Council direction was to return the item for a future vote once design and firm pricing are confirmed.
