Milton Police Advisory Committee elects officers, keeps monthly meeting schedule

The Milton Police Advisory Committee met Nov. 19, 2024, and unanimously elected its leadership for the coming term and confirmed its regular meeting schedule.
Cassandra LaFayette was elected chair after moving that she fill the role; Richard Edwards seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Edwards then moved to elect himself vice chair with a second from LaFayette; that motion also passed unanimously. LaFayette moved to elect Joseph Duquette as clerk, a motion seconded by Edwards and approved by the committee.
The committee voted to retain its existing meeting cadence. Richard Edwards moved to keep the date, time and place as the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Manager's Conference Room; Joseph Duquette seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Committee members confirmed the hybrid meeting location (Town Manager's Conference Room and Zoom) listed on the town agenda.
Members discussed the duties and responsibilities of the advisory group and its relationship with Milton Police, with an emphasis on improving community relations. Public Safety Director Kyle Brouillette reviewed agenda items that required committee action and invited committee input on topics for the next meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 7:06 p.m.; minutes were prepared by Kyle Brouillette and later approved on Dec. 17, 2024.
