Commander Darren Janus (CHP) told the board that for September there were 17 crashes investigated in the CHP area (11 on the highway, 6 on county roads), with 13 property‑damage only and 4 injury collisions and no fatalities. He said enforcement contacts and citations were up substantially year‑over‑year and noted the patrol’s staffing increase — five new officers recently coming off training — as a driver of more enforcement activity.
Commander Sandra Raza (Sheriff’s north station) gave the station’s September statistics and highlighted a higher number of scam reports and a small number of burglaries and thefts. She described several 'garage door kicking' incidents in Heritage Ranch and encouraged residents with information to report them; deputies emphasized they can investigate using neighbor camera footage while protecting victims who fear retaliation.
Board members thanked law‑enforcement presenters and some residents said they had noticed officers’ increased presence at community events. No formal action was taken.
