The Centennial School District Board approved a package of operations items on May 26 that includes outfitting an older school bus as a mobile dining unit, renewing a Siemens service contract for building automation, and renewing technology and software contracts.
Operations chair Mr. Sadowski highlighted item 8.2(d): repurposing lesser‑used buses as mobile dining units this summer to deliver meals in parks and neighborhoods. The board authorized district food service to outfit the bus with decor, tables and air conditioning, with a district cost not to exceed $7,000.
Other approvals included a one‑year service warranty extension for internet access points (district cost not to exceed $52,556); internal and external penetration testing with IntegraOne ($14,242.50); a three‑year Siemens Industry Inc. contract to service building automation and HVAC systems at several district facilities (district cost not to exceed $286,140); and facility‑use fee reductions for township and community groups. The board also approved software and digital resource purchases earlier in the meeting.
Board members noted the mobile dining buses will travel to community locations and parks as part of the summer food program and that federal reimbursement rules require seating availability at sites; district staff said they will design solutions to meet audit expectations.
All operations items listed as 8.2 were approved by voice vote with no dissent recorded.
