West Hanover approves transfer of restaurant liquor license R12649 for 7964 Linglestown Road

At a duly advertised public hearing, Stinnett introduced the matter and attorney Megan Ryland Tan of Barley Snyder presented the application on behalf of the applicant. "My name is Megan Ryland Tan. I'm attorney with Barley Snyder," she told the board and said the license is being transferred from a Harrisburg business to the West Hanover location. She said the building has ample parking and that the tentative name is The Prospect; the property historically housed Funk's Cafe and a Valero gas station.
Applicant Alan Funk, identified by Ryland Tan, said the operation would be similar to other Funk's Restaurant locations and would offer dine‑in and takeout service. When a resident asked whether the restaurant would host a band, Funk replied that some locations feature live music "sometimes once a week" or a single performer with a guitar.
No members of the public opposed the transfer at the hearing. Following board questions, a supervisor moved to approve Resolution 20 26‑28 to authorize the intermunicipal transfer of liquor license R12649; the motion was seconded and the board approved the transfer. The board offered the applicant well wishes and moved on to other business.
The board recorded the public‑hearing process, the applicant presentation, brief public comment and a voice vote approving the resolution. Under discussion the applicant said planned renovations include interior and exterior changes and a possible porch; Ryland Tan provided a proposed menu to the board for review.
