Board approves exemptions, Chapter 61 filings and routine documents; schedules meetings

At its Sept. 18 meeting the Board of Assessors approved FY2025 personal exemptions, recorded receipt of seven Chapter 61A and eight Chapter 61B applications for fiscal 2026, signed minutes and motor-vehicle abatements, and confirmed a special town meeting on Sept. 30 and the board’s next meeting on Oct. 9.
The Acushnet Board of Assessors approved a package of routine administrative items on Sept. 18, 2024, including acceptance of FY2025 personal exemption applications and acknowledgement of Chapter 61 filings received for the next fiscal year.
"So the board of assessors is gonna make a motion to accept the following applications," the committee member said, and listed the exemptions and chapter applications the office had on file. The board moved, seconded and voted by voice to approve the items.
The presenter said there were 41 FY2025 personal exemption items on the list and that the office had received seven Chapter 61A and eight Chapter 61B applications for fiscal 2026. Items to sign at the meeting included meeting minutes from Aug. 14, 2024 (both open and executive session) and motor-vehicle end-of-month abatements for August 2024.
Members moved into a brief executive session and returned to open session before taking the approvals. The board then confirmed scheduling: a special town meeting on Sept. 30, 2024, and the next assessors meeting on Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. The meeting adjourned by unanimous voice vote.
