Commissioners adopt capital ordinances for law, safety and equipment; several ordinances introduced on first reading

The Morris County Board of County Commissioners adopted five capital improvement ordinances on second and final reading at its February meeting, each after a public hearing that produced no public speakers.
The ordinances adopted on second reading included: a $185,000 appropriation for upgrades to the Law and Public Safety Communication Center, a $50,000 ordinance for upgrades at the public safety training academy, a $500,000 appropriation for equipment and vehicle upgrades for the Office of Emergency Management, a $130,000 appropriation for replacement vehicles for the Division of Public Health, and an appropriation for replacement/purchase of equipment, vehicles and furniture for the Morris County Prosecutor's Office (amount read in the clerk's statement).
For each ordinance the clerk opened a public hearing, recorded that no one wished to speak, and the board adopted the ordinance on a unanimous roll-call vote. The clerk called roll for each measure and commissioners voted "yes".
Earlier in the meeting the board introduced, on first reading, a series of capital improvement fund ordinances (2026-13 through 2026-19) that cover exterior and interior building repairs, equipment replacement, stairwell door upgrades, windows and doors work, sheriff's office renovations, and vehicle replacements. Those measures were introduced by title only and approved for first reading; final action will be taken at later meetings.
