Principal David Wiggly announces resignation after appointment as Wall Township superintendent

David Wiggly addressed the board during public participation to announce his resignation from his principal post in the Freehold Regional High School District after recently being appointed superintendent of Wall Township Public Schools.

"I was at the Walltowns Public Schools board meeting being appointed as their next superintendent. Effective July 1, that was the sweet part," Wiggly said, reflecting that the job offer and the opportunity to lead another district were gratifying even as leaving his current community felt bittersweet. He described his years in the district, thanked mentors including Linda Jewell and Liz Higley, and said he looked forward to partnering with district colleagues in a different capacity in the future.

Board members offered condolences and recognition for other personnel matters during the meeting: the agenda included G1 (a principal'9s resignation), G2 (a retirement) and other personnel items (G5, G10, G11). The board moved to approve items G1 through G11 in a consent motion; the chair called the roll and multiple members were recorded as voting "yes." One board member later listed named abstentions for K1 on a separate item.

Wiggly thanked the board, colleagues and the community: "This district has meant so much to me and my family," he said. The board accepted his remarks; the meeting record shows the resignation listed on the agenda and the consent approval of the related personnel items.
