Mr. Bruno, speaking for the policy committee, presented revisions to several board policies and their regulatory framework. The committee removed the district mission statement language from a policy document and reorganized the nepotism policy to better align with the administrative code, Mr. Bruno said. He told the board that the changes are mandatory for district implementation when certain approvals are received.
The committee also proposed revisions to the employment policy for the chief school administrator that update legal references and align contract-review processes with county executive-superintendent oversight. In addition, Mr. Bruno presented a consolidated harassment policy (replacing policies 3362 and 4532, as noted in the materials) and a regulation drafted to address both Title IX and Title VII harassment complaints affecting staff.
Mr. Bruno said these policy and regulation drafts will go through the board'9s first and second reading process; later agenda items indicated the board approved first/second readings for several policies and will continue policy review through the policy committee.
