The clerk read a resolution citing the Open Public Meetings Act and said the Somerset County Board of County Commissioners would go into executive session to discuss purchase, lease and acquisition of land (including DNR Greenland Land Trust and a Hillsborough Trails Grant), as well as potential pending litigation and contract negotiations related to a matter identified in the record as "Dela Cruz." The clerk said the board would not make any decisions when it returned from the closed session.
The board voted to enter executive session following the reading. The clerk placed the statutory citation for the closed session on the record and the chair closed the public meeting portion before adjourning to closed session.
Because the matters are subject to closed‑session confidentiality under state law, the board did not discuss details of negotiations or litigation on the public record and did not announce any outcomes prior to adjourning into executive session.
