City staff presented multiple community announcements and a detailed service-department report.
Chair (S1) said the first community bike ride of 2026 will be held Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the City Hall front parking lot; food will be provided and free helmets will be available for participants to keep. Summer concerts will begin June 10 and run Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Community Park Gazebo; the recreation guide and the city's social channels list the concert lineup. A cultural June 13 celebration is planned at Greenwood Farm Community Park, and registration is open for a free community garage sale scheduled for July 30; building-department permits for that day will be waived.
The service department reported maintenance work completed during the weeks of May 11 and May 18: park and facility cleaning and painting, installation of security boulders, spray-ground seasonal prep, tree trimming and removals, trash removal across high-traffic areas, cold-patch pothole repairs, and parade vehicle preparations. Staff also attended the Tree City USA award ceremony in Strongsville and completed landscaping work at the War Memorial.
These items were presented as informational reports; no formal council action was recorded on the recreation items in the transcript.
