In his superintendent's report, Dr. Verrett said the village formally established a tax-increment financing (TIF) district for the Hampton Hills/LaFox development, a step he said makes the project "pretty likely" to proceed but not final. He emphasized that “a lot of additional steps remain” including planned-unit development approvals and infrastructure work.
Dr. Verrett stressed that the district's negotiated developer-donation agreement remains in effect and he described that agreement as putting the district "in solid footing" should the development move forward. He also told the board the TIF approval does not mean construction or final approvals are complete and that the district will continue monitoring the project as municipal approvals and infrastructure plans evolve.
The superintendent also summarized planned summer capital work across district facilities (tennis courts, mechanical upgrades, generator and greenhouse work, and health-life-safety repairs), and said operations staff are coordinating projects to finish before the fall school year.
