Solicitor previews 20 resolutions for next meeting and asks board to enter executive session for litigation, personnel

During the Beaver County work session, the solicitor (S6) told the board there are approximately 20 resolutions slated for approval at the next regular meeting and called out several items of note: Resolution 14, a contract to replace roofs at the MDJ offices; Resolution 15, the renewal of the county’s general liability insurance policy; Resolution 16, a contract related to a hazmat addition on Route 501; and Resolution 19, a lease connected to an upcoming ‘boom’ event.
The solicitor said an executive session was needed to address both litigation and personnel matters. The solicitor’s request was recorded as: “I do need an executive session for both the litigation and personnel matters.” The board moved into executive session at the end of the public portion of the work session and did not take public votes on those resolutions during the meeting.
A committee member (S2) asked questions about the hazmat agreement and said they had read the document closely. That same committee member also used their time for announcements, congratulating Leroy Ball, described in remarks as Beaver County’s Leroy Ball and identified as the CEO of Commerce, on being named chair of the Allegheny Conference beginning in January.
No formal votes or approvals were recorded in the public session; the solicitor’s preview served as a briefing for items scheduled for action at the next meeting.
