Cheatham County approves mayoral contracts, two firehouse leases and library architect agreement

Commissioners also approved the mayor’s signature on an architect & design contract with Johnson & Associates for the new South Cheatham Library facility and related work on the North Branch; that agreement outlines basic design responsibilities, consultant subcontracts, and preliminary compensation provisions. Other administrative approvals included a Quadient maintenance contract for postage machines, an RJ Young copier/maintenance arrangement, and a GovEase agreement to use an online auction portal for delinquent tax sales.
All mayoral signature items were approved by roll call, 12‑0. The meeting minutes show standard procurement language and note funding sources where relevant (e.g., library architect fees funded from county funds transferred via a budget amendment).
Why it matters: The leases secure space for county EMS operations at Pleasant View locations and the library architect contract provides a concrete next step for a project previously discussed in county planning.
