The police chief reported 129 total calls for the week of May 10–16 (110 in North Logan, 19 in Hyde Park), with priority calls comprising roughly 56 percent of incidents and 78 traffic stops resulting in 24 citations and 54 warnings. "All in all, with the shortage of staff because we had those at training, it was a busy week for us," the chief said.
The fire chief announced leadership changes after a 34‑year retirement of the operations chief and described promotions and hires: a new operations chief and adjustments in assistant chief and training chief roles. The chief also reported that fire calls have increased significantly compared with the prior year and that the department is monitoring trends and placement for a Zone 73 Fire Station.
Council thanked both departments for their service. No formal actions were taken; these were informational reports.
