The North Logan City Council on May 20 approved the fire chief's recommendations establishing the dates, times and geographic boundaries for private fireworks sales and ignition in 2026.
The fire chief summarized the map and the schedule: "The division 1.4g fireworks can be legally sold between June 24 and July 25," and discharge hours were stated as 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 2–5 (midnight on July 4) and July 22–25 (midnight on July 24). The chief said the city's GIS team will publish an interactive map so residents can confirm whether their address is inside or outside restricted areas.
Council approved the recommendation by motion and voice vote. The fire chief and council also emphasized caution given early‑season fire behavior and said they will follow any new direction from the state fire marshal if restrictions increase due to dryness.
Implementation: staff will post the interactive boundary map, install signage by June 24, and coordinate enforcement and public education ahead of the permitted sale and ignition windows.
