The Madison Board of Education approved two policy changes, accepted meeting minutes and moved to executive session to discuss the superintendent’s evaluation.
Action item 11 approved Policy 33-23 (soliciting prices, bids and quotations) and Policy 61.42.101 (student wellness), both to take effect July 1, 2026. Policy committee members said these were second reads and that two other policy items had been recommended for waiver of a second read so they could be implemented for fall.
The board then approved the minutes of the May 12, 2026 special meeting after a motion and second. Later the board voted to enter executive session at 7:51 p.m. to discuss the evaluation of the superintendent and invited the superintendent to attend; the motion to enter executive session carried with the board recording a 6–0 favorable outcome.
Chair framed the executive-session motion as standard practice for personnel evaluation discussion; the board did not discuss evaluation content in public session.
