The Bremer County Board of Supervisors approved a minor plat to separate an agricultural building from a home acreage and scheduled two public hearings for June 16: one for Ordinance 26006, which would amend chapter 1 (private sewage disposal) in Title 3 (Public Works) to require fall protection on plastic septic-tank lids, and another to consider adoption of the county’s comprehensive land-use plan.
Lindsay, building and zoning staff, presented a straightforward minor plat for Jonathan (Josh) and Jennifer Josh, explaining no change in use or zoning issues and noting an access easement off Taylor. The board approved the minor plat by voice vote.
Lindsay described the proposed ordinance change as adding a safety requirement to septic tanks (fall protection on plastic lids) and invited contractors and residents with concerns to appear at the public hearing scheduled for June 16 at 9:15 a.m. She also said the draft 96-page comprehensive plan is posted on the county website and available in her office; supervisors urged members of the public to review the draft and send comments to building and zoning or their supervisors before the hearing.
Both hearings will take place on June 16 at 9:15 a.m.; the board made no final decisions on the ordinance or the comp plan at the meeting and asked staff to publish proof of publication and prepare materials for public review.
