The Atascadero City Council unanimously approved the consent calendar after no items were pulled for separate consideration. Council member Funk moved approval and Mayor Pro Temenderas seconded; the council voted yes on the roll call.
In staff updates, Deputy City Manager Laura Henderson outlined several public‑safety and community items. She announced the public groundbreaking for the first phase of the public facilities project (including Fire Station 2 and a new police dispatch building) at Fire Station 1 on June 8 at 3 p.m. and noted the city recently received a 2026 Pierce Enforcer pumper that will serve as the department’s primary frontline response vehicle. Henderson also reminded residents that weed abatement is mandatory by June 1 and listed several summer events, including a tournament and an ice‑cream event on June 6 and the Atascadero Lakeside WineFest on June 13.
Public comments during the community forum raised road‑marking and delivery‑time concerns. Resident Richard Moen urged the city to restore white edge lines on major streets to improve nighttime safety for older drivers, while Jeff Auslin asked whether code enforcement had contacted a new supermarket operating deliveries before the city’s 7 a.m. delivery rule. The mayor directed Deputy Public Works Hayes and staff to meet with the residents and work with businesses to address delivery issues.
The council also received committee reports on regional grants and programs. The meeting adjourned after brief announcements and reports.
