Finance Director Aaron Turner presented Merrimack County’s first-quarter financial reports at the May 11 Board of Commissioners meeting, saying revenues were approximately 1% short of projections while expenditures ran about $500,000 under budget. Turner told the board the county had submitted roughly $277,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) expenditures and estimated a remaining balance of about $10,000 earmarked for expansion-related work.
Turner also told commissioners the county’s annual audit will be presented at the next meeting and that the county would issue a solicitation for auditing services because this is the final year of engagement with Roberge & Company, P.C. The board did not debate new spending in detail during the meeting but received the reports and directed staff to proceed with routine procurement for auditing services.
The financial presentation was delivered during the regular session; no formal policy changes were adopted. The board later approved several line-item motions and contracts across departments, which county staff said will be reflected in subsequent financial reports.
