Lake Forest recognizes six SBDC Main Street Digital grant recipients and previews 'Taste of Lake Forest'

City staff used the council meeting to recognize Lake Forest businesses that completed round two of the Orange County Inland Empire Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Main Street Digital Program and to preview the upcoming Taste of Lake Forest event.
Management assistant Ian McKeever said the City set aside $50,000 from its Strategic Economic Investment Program (SEAP) in 2024 to fund the partnership with SBDC. The second round served six Lake Forest businesses, each receiving a $1,000 grant and participation in a four‑week training plus a one‑on‑one SBDC consultant session. Participating businesses named in the presentation included Boba Bee; Homewell Care Services; Ink Rabbit Print Works; Kathy Mortizavi, DDS Ink; and the Kubon Math and Reading Centers (Foothill Ranch and Lake Forest). Certificates will be delivered to businesses not in attendance, and staff invited attending participants to receive certificates and a photo with the council.
McKeever also previewed Taste of Lake Forest, scheduled for Saturday, June 13, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Heritage Hill Historical Park; staff said last year’s event attracted nearly 700 attendees and will again feature local restaurants, live music and beer and wine gardens. Tickets were listed at $50 per person and the event is restricted to attendees 21 and older.
