Board establishes restricted donations account for Public Health and approves IT contract for county IT support

The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors on May 18 adopted RESOLUTION NO. 05-18-26-30A directing the Auditor to establish an interest-bearing restricted account for monetary donations to the Chickasaw County Public Health Department. Under the resolution, donations and any interest earned will remain in the restricted account; expenditures require the Public Health Director’s recommendation and approval by the Chickasaw County Board of Health.
Separately, the board discussed a county-wide fiber/internet project for county properties during a recess/resume period and then approved an IT consultant contract with 20/20 FX for 300 hours at $2,250.00 per month for fiscal year 2026–27 to support county IT operations. The IT contract vote occurred after Supervisor Carter had left the meeting; the motion passed by roll call of the remaining supervisors.
Engineer Roman Lensing and IT staff member Denny Ungs provided department updates during the meeting; additional technical and procurement details about the fiber project and the IT contract are on file with county staff.
The board directed the Auditor and relevant departments to file the resolution and contract documents as part of the county record.
