The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors on May 18 approved several personnel and equipment actions affecting county public safety and roads.
The board authorized hiring Jace Hall as a full-time deputy sheriff at $31.20 per hour, effective June 2, 2026, and approved an employment repayment agreement totaling $13,450 that the board authorized the chair to sign. Carter moved the hiring motion and Breitbach seconded it; the motion passed by roll call.
On the roads side, supervisors approved a union contract wage increase for Secondary Roads Equipment Operator Austin Reicks from $25.24 per hour to $26.64 per hour, effective May 24, 2026. The board also reviewed three vendor quotes for a FY27 tandem axle dump truck and approved purchasing a Freightliner 114SD+ from Truck Country for $351,621.81 for Secondary Roads; the motion was carried by roll call.
These personnel and equipment approvals were routine motions recorded in the official minutes. The detailed vendor quotes, the employment repayment agreement and hiring paperwork are on file with the county Auditor and the Secondary Roads department.
