The city indicated it would work with the sheriff and funding partners and return to council if material reallocation was needed.
What changed: instead of fixed line items tied to specific enforcement categories in the contract, the $400,000 overtime item will be a general overtime pool with guidance and prioritization developed by the public safety subcommittee and city staff. The motion passed in a unanimous roll call.
