Marion County commissioners approve appointments, contracts and accept land-use appeal

At its Feb. 11 session, the Marion County Board of Commissioners appointed members to advisory and fair boards, approved multiple county contracts and purchase orders totaling more than $2 million, authorized tax refunds, opted in to ORS 105.668, and accepted an administrative appeal.
The Marion County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 11 approved a slate of routine appointments, contracts and refunds and accepted an appeal of a hearings officer decision during a brief board session.
On the consent agenda the board appointed Kimberly Faber to the Marion County Mental Health Advisory Committee with a term ending Dec. 31, 2029. The board also approved an interdepartmental agreement between Marion County Health and Human Services (MCHHS) and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to provide clinical supervision services to a qualified mental health professional through June 30, 2029.
Notable procurement approvals included a contract with Willamette BI not to exceed $300,000 for an on-site project director to support Marion County’s Oracle Fusion implementation (retroactive Feb. 2, 2026–Jan. 31, 2027), a $1,500,000 purchase order with Dell Marketing (Dell USA, L.P.) for computer hardware and lifecycle replacement countywide, and a contract with Nexterra, Inc. not to exceed $350,000 for yard debris grinding services at the Brown’s Island Demolition Landfill and Compost Facility through Dec. 31, 2028. The board also approved three property tax refunds: Greenacres II, LLC ($57,554.81); Reese Real Estate and Investment Co., Inc. ($56,417.62); and Sublimity CIC Partners, LLC ($30,224.37).
The board approved an order to opt in to Oregon Revised Statute (ORS) 105.668 limiting certain claims arising from recreational use of public trails, structures in public easements, unimproved rights-of-way, and adjacent property.
Separately, the board voted to accept an appeal of the hearings officer’s decision in Administrative Review Case #25-015 (Remington BESS, LLC on behalf of the Neils Paul Jensen and Irma L. Jensen Joint Revocable Trust). John Speckman presented the appeal for consideration.
Commissioner Danielle Bethell moved each of the recorded motions; Commissioner Colm Willis seconded. Each motion carried with Bethell and Willis voting aye and Commissioner Kevin Cameron absent. The board adjourned at 9:43 a.m.
