Among those items were a commitment of matching funds (not to exceed $4,187.50) for a tourism grant applied for by the Byram Township Historical Society (Res. 205‑2023), acceptance of an amended Highlands Council plan conformance grant for stormwater planning and MS4 permitting (Res. 206‑2023), purchase of gift cards for a Halloween house‑decorating contest (Res. 207‑2023), authorization of a custodial contract with Royalty Cleaning Services (Res. 208‑2023), execution of a lease to support the Waterloo United Methodist Church neighborhood pantry (Res. 209‑2023), sewer utility fund appropriation transfers (Res. 210‑2023), and Chapter 159 grant recognition (Res. 211‑2023).
Council also approved Resolution No. 213‑2023 to make an annual donation of $6,000 to the Lakeland Emergency Squad; that motion was moved by Councilwoman Franco and seconded by Councilman Gallagher. Resolution No. 214‑2023, authorizing the transfer of a right‑of‑way easement on Tamarack Road as described in Ordinance 23‑2004 (for closing costs, with no additional payment), was approved on a motion by Councilwoman Franco with a second from Councilman Gallagher.
The council approved the bill list for Nov. 8, 2023, and accepted minutes from the Sept. 19 and Oct. 17 meetings. The record shows the Sept. 19 minutes carried with one recorded abstention (the transcript does not specify which member abstained).
