The Benton County Board of Supervisors on May 19 approved Resolution No. 26-43 to enter into a 28E agreement with Dubuque County to coordinate the collection of delinquent court obligations at the county level. The vote to approve the resolution carried unanimously (Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye) during the board’s regular session at the Benton County Service Center.
The resolution, which the board authorized the chair to execute on Benton County’s behalf, states that combining efforts will return unpaid debt to the State and to the participating counties and will return unpaid victim restitution to crime victims in both counties. The agreement is set to take effect July 1, 2026, and run through June 30, 2029.
Supervisor Ronald J. Tippett moved the motion to approve Resolution No. 26-43; Supervisor Bruce Volz seconded. The published resolution and the full 28E agreement are available in the Benton County Auditor’s office and on the county website.
The board handled the approval as part of its routine business; no public testimony was recorded on the resolution during the meeting.
