At its May 26 meeting, the Hoover City Council approved several routine resolutions by unanimous voice votes.
Resolution 8846-26 authorizes the city clerk and mayor to execute documents necessary to claim unclaimed property and have those funds deposited into city accounts. City staff described the measure as a housekeeping action to collect checks the city had not previously received.
Resolution 8847-26 authorizes a one-year preventive maintenance agreement with Stryker for medical and patient-movement equipment, including stretchers, loading systems, life packs and stair chairs. The cost is $25,089; the chief said the contract saved about $18,000 compared with another plan and that the city plans to reevaluate options in October.
Resolution 8848-26 approves an EMS transport agreement with Orlando Health to permit reimbursement for eligible transports to Brookwood Hospital. The chief clarified the agreement covers transfers from a freestanding emergency room to Brookwood only, does not obligate the Hoover Fire Department to provide transports, and was written to preserve the department's discretion and 911-priority response structure.
All three resolutions passed by voice vote. No council member opposed any of the measures and the council moved on to other business.
