Mr. Brooking, representing Verizon Wireless, appeared before the Cheektowaga Environmental Advisory Committee on May 27 to present a proposal to replace one existing rooftop antenna and add one additional radio equipment unit at 2560 Walden (near Walmart). Brooking said the change is a replacement and a modest addition to an existing facility; the application was filed as a special‑use upgrade and categorized as an unlisted action under the town’s SEQRA process.
Committee members reviewed elevations and visual impact considerations; no on‑site photographs had been filed with the packet, and Brooking said he could provide them if required. After discussion, the committee moved and voted to recommend a negative declaration, allowing the applicant to proceed to the town board for final action.
The committee’s recommendation is advisory; the town board will make the final SEQRA determination and special‑use decision.
The applicant was instructed to follow up with town staff about the town‑board date and to provide any requested photographic exhibits.
