County hears property-assessment update: Lake Mac reports about $25 million in new construction

Brian Hill of Lake Mac Assessments told the Dundy County Commissioners on May 18 that last year’s property-assessment work covered roughly 700 rural properties and found about $25 million in new construction, primarily attributed to Blackshirt Feeders.
Hill said the assessment tables produced results similar to the previous year and therefore produced no major assessment changes overall. Notices of Valuation Changes are scheduled to be mailed by June 2, 2026, and Lake Mac will be available to assist property owners who choose to file valuation protests. He said next year’s assessment work will focus on commercial properties.
Commissioners did not take any formal action at the meeting on assessment appeals; the deputy clerk noted procedures for valuation protests and Lake Mac’s availability to support hearings.
