Resident-business owner urges Winston council to reexamine disparity report and RV-space costs

Billy McCurry, a Winston resident and business owner, used the public-comment period on Sept. 2 to urge the Winston City Council to take a closer look at a recently distributed disparity report and the costs attributed to each RV space.
"After reading over it, I'm just asking that the council really, really look at that, in regards to, costs for each of the RV spaces," McCurry said, asking the council to review the report and make copies available to members of the public. He said he had not had time to examine it before it was distributed to the council.
City staff responded that the full slideshow and associated documents — and a letter that had been emailed — are available and that the city will make diligence documents accessible on the website and via a legal notice as required by statute. Administration said the supplemental budget that will address related funding items is scheduled to be discussed at the council’s next meeting.
The comment was made during the public-comment period; no formal council action on the report was taken at the Sept. 2 meeting. Staff directed that documents related to the report be made available for review ahead of the supplemental budget discussion.
