Pulaski County opens bids for equipment, approves mower and dump-bed purchases and sends fire/ambulance bids for committee review

County staff read a long list of bidders for roads, equipment and services — including Slade Enterprises, Krigger Concrete LLC, Big Blue Contracting, Southern Petroleum, Sparkle Clean and multiple local vendors — and told the court the bids will be available in the county office for review. After the public opening, the court approved a motion to accept the bids and send them for review.
On specific purchases, the court approved a replacement lawnmower with a $5,900 trade-in difference after a member said purchases over $5,000 must come before the court. "It's a $5,900 difference in the 2 mowers," the chair said before the motion passed.
Fleet maintenance recommended purchasing a new 10-foot dump bed priced at $10,900 plus an estimated $800 delivery from Oklahoma. Staff said that total would put the county under roughly $12,000 to outfit the existing truck; the court approved the purchase by voice vote.
In public-safety procurement, Stacy reported three bids for ambulances, a complete tanker truck and chassis bids from vendors including Wheeled Coach, Redline Firetrucks and Southeast Apparatus; the court voted to accept those bids for review and requested that the equipment committee at the fire commission return recommendations to the court.
The court also authorized hiring an office assistant in emergency management and approved a road-list purchase authorization during department reports. Most approvals were voice votes without individual roll-call tallies.
