West Frankfort council approves routine payments, buys body cameras and renews insurance

The West Frankfort City Council approved a package of routine payments and purchases during its Jan. 13 meeting, including body‑camera licensing and equipment, vendor invoices and the city’s annual insurance premium.
Council approved a $2,439.45 annual license/subscription for body‑camera services from Motorola Solutions and separately authorized purchase of three body cameras and a transfer station for $3,522.40 to expand recording and redaction capacity. Council members said licensing and redaction are required when adding devices and that the additional hardware was needed because existing storage was full.
Other approved payments included $2,906.44 to Acumed Group EMS Management for billing services; $3,766 to Bolt Tire and Repair for street-department truck repairs; $6,104.60 and $12,000 to Greater Egypt entities for stormwater grant reimbursement and watershed contract work; and an $8,000 payment to Midwest Petroleum and Excavating for STP grit-classifier repairs. The council also approved a municipal insurance premium payment of $456,327 for the 12/01/2025–12/01/2026 policy term.
Each payment was moved, seconded and approved by roll call during the meeting’s agenda; staff provided brief explanations for the larger or technical items.
